Speiginer Family History - Native American
Native American History
The met effective research led to the “Final Rolls of the Citizens and Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes in Indian Territory” or "Dawes Rolls". The 1866 Treaties allowed the Secretary of the Interior to compile a census of the legal citizens of the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek and Seminole Nations, for voting, General Council participation and political representation purposes.
Under the "S" section of the "Dawes Rolls" I could only find the following names associated with Cherokees: "Spigener; Spigner & Spinger".

The Native Nations, Names and Crests
Around mid-2005, I found the different information on the Speiginer Crest to be conflicting. With this initial frustration, a shift was made to place more research focus on "American Indian Nation Crests", in honor of our Native American roots. Although there are hundreds of Native American nation crests, the focus was on the two nations of Blackfoot & Cherokee. More research was placed on specific locations in North Carolina or Alabama where it was the most likely to find the origins of the Cherokee Speiginers'.
Here are some of the results researched:
This band was started for the "Eastern Ban" and could include Cherokees that are ancestors of Harrison H. Speiginer
This band is most likey the area where the "Germans" settled and more likely includes Cherokees that are ancestors of Harrison H. Speiginer
This band seems to be for most Blackfoot Nations and could include Blackfoot that are ancestors of Grandma Curley Brown (wife of Grandpa Harrison H. Speiginer).
This band seems to be for Oklahoma Blackfoot Nations and could include Blackfoot that are ancestors of Grandma Curley Brown (wife of Grandpa Harrison H. Speiginer).
