Below are typical trucks that Julius worked on (and self-taught) on welding the aluminum starter housings (he said that typically the Ford and Dodge trucks were the worst). This new ability enabled him to be promoted to T-Sergeant (since he was the only one know that could do it).
There are few pictures of Julius and Louis together as adults. They were seldom separated from each other and had the first real separation when Julius went into The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) about 1937 for 3 years (making $37.50/month).
